Editing a track allows you to make any necessary updates or corrections, ensuring that all information, such as titles, artist credits, and metadata, is accurate. This is required to maintain the quality and professionalism of your release, helping it perform better across digital platforms.
Step 1: Access the Track
Navigate to Catalog > Tracks in your LabelGrid dashboard.
Locate the track you want to edit and open the Actions column menu.
Select Edit.
Step 2: Editing Track Details
Adding and Uploading Music
Upload Music: Upload your music in a .wav format, preferably. Ensure the following audio requirements:
44.1kHz WAV, 16bit Stereo at minimum.
Choose Composition Type
Select Composition Type:
Original Composition
Cover Song
Public Domain
To distribute a cover song, ensure you have obtained a mechanical license.
Completing Track Details
Title Tab:
Mix Version: Specify the version of the track.
Track Title: Enter the title of the track.
Remix Title (if applicable): Enter the remix title.
Language: Indicate the language of the track.
Artists Tab:
Add Primary Artists.
Include any Featured Artists and Remixers.
Metadata Tab:
Populate required fields, including:
Primary Genre
Secondary Genre
Copyright P-Line/C-Line
ISRC code
Mark as explicit content (Yes or No).
Optionally designate "album only" tracks.
Lyrics Tab:
Add lyrics and specify the language.
Splits and Contributions Tab:
Allocate percentages for:
Master Splits (e.g., collaborators, percentage shares)
Publishing Splits (e.g., writers, roles, percentage shares)
Step 3: Finalizing the Edit
Once all details are entered, click the Finish button. LabelGrid will then update your track with the new information.
Pro Tip: When adding artists and their contributions, use the Apply Autofill feature to pre-populate fields to save time and avoid redundant work.
